Producer Peggy Hollingsworth studied Theater Arts at Columbia University, NY and at the University of California, Los Angeles before receiving an M.S. in the field of Special Education from California State University, Fullerton, CA. After twenty years of classroom teaching, she produced Stage One: The Natural Approach to Speaking English, a video program which has been used to teach over one-half million non-English speakers throughout the United States and in many foreign countries. LIKE Publications of Taegu, Korea, retained Ms. Hollingsworth and Stage One Productions to develop and produce Open Door to English for use in the elementary classrooms.
The concept of sentience-structure songs to assist students increase their comprehension while mastering basic syntax was developed by In Hwan Kim for his doctoral dissertation while at Columbia University. Dr. Kim operates several language schools in Korea and composed many of the songs, which form the basis of Open Door to English.
